2002Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award Programme

Nominator's project description

The Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award has been granted in recogniton of the excellent achievements in the quantum theory of highly charged ions. The newly developed theoretical methods allow for a rigorous and accurate calculation of the interelectronic interaction, of the g-factor of bound electrons and of the hyperfine-splitting in atomic systems.
